What is more important in a song: lyrics or melody?

i dunno if this is weird but i personally find the melody more important. lyrics usually dont matter to me, i just like the way it sounds. i know from experience its really embaring when your listening to a song that has amazing melody yet the lyrics has lots of obscenities.
