Question for all horsey people?

Horses are like you or I (different) they all have their own personalities. I wouldnt be alarmed if she doesnt fancy galloping off like a lunatic, if anything you are lucky to have a calm horse! In other words having a calm horse there is less likely a chance of you having an accident and it also means your horse probably has a lot more manners than one that just wants to take off all the time. It also depends on what type of year it is, i.e. in the spring the spring gr usually makes my horse have a lot more energy and in the winter when there is less nutrients in the ground he tends to be a little more sluggish. Does your horse canter/gallop if you ask for it?? If you are giving the aids for your horse to change its gait but they do not respond you may want to call out someone to look at his back. It may be that they are uncomfortable or the saddle doesnt fit properly which may affect them being able to move.
