Is Eli Whitney and/or his son somehow linked to the Winchester family?

I know that Eli Whitney was given a contract from the US Congress to make 10,000 muskets and he spent the rest of his life making muskets and then died, and his firm was ped down to his son and later became known as the Winchester Firearms company, but was Eli Whitney somehow linked to the Winchester family? Or was his son of which the firm was ped down to somehow linked to the Winchester family? If so please explain. Thanks. :)
